Praying For Our Friends

This morning we stood with our friends, our brother and sister in Christ, as they laid to rest their three-month-old daughter.

There aren't a lot of words to cover that situation. Every part of it is jarring, every aspect of it assaults the mind. This shouldn't be.

Yet in that funeral parlor before a tiny casket, in that caravan of cars to the cemetery, at that open gash in the earth that will be her grave, there was the Angel of His Presence.

God's mercy is great, His comfort is real, His promises are true.

One day there will be a reunion. In the meantime, that little one is in the arms of her Saviour.

Praying today for her Mommy and Daddy, for her big sister, and her entire family, for peace that passes all possible understanding, and for hope that goes far beyond that grave.

My daughter Bethany wrote some thoughts on this here.
